Meet Your Coach

Let me introduce myself—I'm Aaron, the owner of Moore’s Refinishing.

Since 2004, I've likely refinished thousands of pieces of furniture. When I started out on my own, I had to learn many these tips and tricks the hard way. Let my 20 years of experience take your refinishing to the next level.

Now, I wonder who will teach the next generation of refinishers. I scrolled video after video watching people do things that I wouldn’t recommend doing. It was at this point I knew I had to branch out to start teaching.

That's why I started Revive & Refine. I'm opening up my shop to you, so you can learn directly from me and my team. Discover valuable techniques from the "old timers" and master the art of refinishing.

My drive is to make each and every one of you better refinishers. You can learn through my book, join group classes, or get personalized guidance with one-on-one coaching.

Join us and elevate your refinishing skills to the highest level!

One Day I Started Sharing

I post on multiple platforms daily, but Instagram was the first one I started focusing on and it’s where the largest group of my followers currently is. Give a follow if you haven’t already.

FAQs

  • Yes, you just need to put in the time and keep good notes for yourself. I would also suggest focusing on one area at a time (stripping, for example) and moving to something else when you’ve really made progress and tried tips, tools, and steps on your own projects.

  • We’re finishing all the photography and final layout by the end of May. Then doing a test print for the hard copy version. And then doing the first print order. I’m doing the design and printing without involving publishers, so it’s “learn as you go“ experience for me, but I love keeping the control over the look, feel, and content.

  • I have been teaching my team and a few select students in person over the last few years. I had total beginners pick up new skills and confidence in 10-20 hours of hand-on learning. Sometimes you have a specific question or 3 and we can review those together and can demo right in the shop. I’ve also worked with stores to uplevel their in-house team. I suggest trying a shorter session and see how you like it. Then buy a pack of hours when you have a few projects for us to look at together as you make progress.

  • Can be both. If you’re not local to Southern California, we definitely go the Zoom route. In-person you can try things for yourself and I can correct you on the spot, so it’s a bit different learning, more immersive.
